King Henry VIII has a proud history as one of the top sporting schools in the region. Our major games teams in Rugby, Hockey, Netball and Cricket all compete at a high level. Sixth Form students choose from a wide variety of options for their time-tabled games lessons. Including gym in our on-site fitness suite, swimming in our 25m pool and rock climbing on our indoor climbing wall. Further options include badminton, cross-county and table-tennis.

Music opportunities abound with more than 20 music groups to choose from each week. Everything from Swing Band to the First Orchestra and from Rock bands to the Sovereign Singers. Our Sixth Form students form a vital part of the music ensembles, often leading groups of younger pupils.

Drama has seen a major development in the past few years and the quality of the annual School Play is high. Sixth Form students typically take lead roles in this production, both on stage and in all the behind the scenes roles. Recent productions have included ‘Grease’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Gatsby’.
