VIVA THEATRE ARTS - New classes for 2017/18!

Acrobatic Dance

For pupils in Years 3 and 4 – Monday lunchtimes – please bring a packed lunch

Acrobatic dance is the combination of classical dance technique and the precision and athleticism of gymnastics.  Following a structured individual development pathway, tailored to each individual’s capabilities, acrobatics includes elements such as balance, limbering, tumbling and partner/team work, building core strength, flexibility, stamina and control.  Acrobatics promotes self-confidence and self-motivation as the children set themselves weekly goals and group targets- all whilst having great fun with new friends!  Students can be prepared for examinations with the ABD exam board.  Spaces are limited - please book early to avoid disappointment.

For pupils in Years 5 and 6 – Thursday lunchtimes – please bring a packed lunch

A new body conditioning programme designed to increase core strength and flexibility, based on the acclaimed Progressing Ballet Technique and Acrobatic Arts programmes for children.  This course is designed to be complementary to other dance and sport activities undertaken by your child and enhance physical fitness and stamina. Additional equipment will be required – exercise balls and mats will be supplied but your child will require their own theraband.  Spaces are limited in this class.

Any queries, please contact Claudia on 07977 493563 or principal@vivatheatrearts.co.uk.

We are fortunate in the Preparatory School to have access to LAMDA teachers who teach pupils extra-curricular Speech and Drama and Acting Lessons through into the Senior School. This means that there are a wide variety of opportunities for the pupils and it is sometimes possible to continue with the same tutor throughout a pupil’s whole school career.

Pupils discover a wide range of poetry and prose and learn how to interpret their meanings and experience a variety of skills including staging techniques, mime, role-play and improvisation.

Yoga Club

YogaGen are excited to bring Yoga to the pupils of King Henry VIII Preparatory School (Hales) this Autumn.  Improve your flexibility through yoga postures and unwind using relaxation techniques in this fun, interactive club designed specifically for children.  Taught by Desh Chana, qualified Kido Kids Yoga Instructor with over 10 years Yoga experience.
