School Life

We believe that there is as much to be learnt outside the classroom as there is inside it. These pages outline just a few of the activities that pupils enjoy at school each week.

Use the links on the left to find out more.

You will also find information on these pages about our superb pastoral care, chaplaincy and other support that we offer to the pupils.

If you visit on an Open Morning you will find the school buzzing with activities. These will be a small selection of those that take place each week. For example, we have over 75 clubs and activities available to pupils in a typical week. These are as diverse as rock climbing in the Sports Hall and rock school in the Music School. There is 'Mathletes' for bright pupils who love mathematical challenges and there is mindfulness for those who seek respite during their busy day. These activities are all included in the school fees and all pupils are invited to join them.

Extra Curricular Activities Autumn 2017

Our Outdoor Education is one of the school's greatest strengths and offers pupils a challenge beyond the usual routines of daily life. Wonderful opportunities exist during the school day and holidays. This outdoor education allows friendships to grow, confidence to develop and new skills to be learnt. There is often a voluntary element which raises awareness of those less fortunate than us. New Year 7 pupils all join a team building trip to Derbyshire in September to prepare them for the opportunities that lie ahead.

Questions regarding pastoral care and extra-curricular activities should be directed to Dr Michele Cuthbert, Deputy Head: cuthbertm@khviii.net
