New Early Years Centre Completed!
We are delighted to inform parents that our new Early Years Centre for children aged 3 - 5 has now been completed and is ready for our pupils on the first day of term, Thursday 3rd September. Accommodation comprises two large Nursery studios, a cloakroom, toilets, a kitchen where children can be taught to cook and prepare food, a tutorial room and two new Reception classrooms. Each of the new Reception classrooms opens on its own covered play area and the Nursery has its own covered playground. Our third Reception classroom has been created by converting the oldest part of the Main Building, which is thought to date back to the 16th century.
Reception Facilities Named After Trees
As the old Swallows Site is surrounded by beautiful trees, some of which are several hundred years old, we have decided to name the Reception rooms after trees. Hence we have Oak, Chestnut, Hornbeam and Willow Cottage. All trees found in the School grounds.
Hard work by staff
We should like to thank all our Nursery and Reception staff and praise their dedication. They have given up a significant part of their summer holidays to ensure that the new facilities are ready for the children. We hope our pupils are excited and really like their new classrooms.
