£2500 Raised for Haiti

The children at King Henry VIII Preparatory School have kind hearts! The School Council has spent some time this year considering which charity should receive the School's major charitable effort. However, as soon as they heard of the plight of the poor people of Haiti their minds were made up and in the space of less than two weeks over £2500 was raised!

How did they do it?

Firstly there was an auction of children's Art work. A piece of art by every child in the school was placed on the walls at both Hales and Swallows. Parents and others were encouraged to bid for these. On Friday 5th February children could wear whatever hat they liked - for a price! So Hats for Haiti also raised a good deal of money.

International Red Cross

The total amount raised exceeds £2500 and this will be given to the International Red Cross to help the victims of the terrible Earthquake. The children are to be congratulated on their efforts.
