Miss Hunt gained a B.A. (Hons) Crafts, specialising in woodwork and textiles and then qualified as a teacher with a P.G.C.E. in Art and Design from De Montfort University, Leicester.

After qualifying she worked in a variety of village schools in Warwickshire before joining Coventry Preparatory School to establish the Art Department in 1994.

In Easter 2004 she raised nearly £3,000 for Sight Savers International by cycling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Her interests outside school include walking, cycling, art and craft, reading, adventure and travel.
