(Hons)
E-Mail: beckg@khps.co.uk
Gill Beck qualified with a B.Ed Hons from Nene College Northampton
and then spent four years teaching in Milton Keynes and the Wirral
before realising her long held ambition to work overseas.
From 1991-1998 Gill worked in International Schools in Singapore,
Malaysia and Thailand as well as spending a year working with Gifted
and Talented children and teaching year 5 in Auckland, New Zealand. This
was a wonderful experience both personally and professionally and
led to many experiences she will never forget.
Upon her return to England, Miss Beck worked briefly in a school
in Banbury before gaining a position teaching Year 5 at Warwick
School. She remained at Warwick School for 8 years, during
which Gill became Head of English, Head of Year and Head of Tracking
and Assessment. Along with these middle management roles,
Gill also worked in the special needs department, gaining a certificate
in Dyslexia and Literacy from the Dyslexia Institute in 2003 and
was in charge of charity events, raising thousands of pounds for
various causes and working for a summer on a school project in
Tanzania.
Gill joined King Henry’s in 2007 as a Year 3 class teacher
and is now Head of Learning Support. She is looking forward
to the new challenges and experiences that will arise as the department
moves forward in the coming years.
