Mrs Helen Williamson - Year 2 Class Teacher

B.Sc.(Hons) Mathematics (with computing), QTS, PGA Teaching & Learning

Helen Williamson joined the teaching staff of King Henry VIII Preparatory School in September 2009. She qualified as a teacher with the Graduate Training Programme at Warwick University.  Her studies at Warwick University also gained her a Post Graduate Award in Teaching and Learning.  She is trained to teach across both KS1 and KS2 in all subject areas.

After graduating with an Honours degree in Mathematics with Computing in 1992 Helen embarked on a successful career in Information Technology (IT).   She worked within the automotive industry, managing data and computer networks.

Following a career break to spend time with her two children, Helen was drawn into the world of education.  Initially working as an IT technician and Teaching Assistant within a Warwickshire school, she was encouraged by her colleagues to gain her teaching qualification.  She has experience of working in schools in Coventry, Birmingham and Warwickshire.

In the past, Helen’s interests have led her to support the work of the Children’s Society and her local churches, particularly with baptisms.  She is a warranted Brownie Guide Leader for the Girl Guide Association.

Helen is married with two girls, at schools within the Coventry Foundation.  She enjoys cooking, camping, walking, spending time with her family and supporting her daughters in their various activities.
