Helen Williamson joined the teaching staff of King Henry VIII
Preparatory School in September 2009. She qualified as a teacher
with the Graduate Training Programme at Warwick University. Her
studies at Warwick University also gained her a Post Graduate Award
in Teaching and Learning. She is trained to teach across
both KS1 and KS2 in all subject areas.
After graduating with an Honours degree in Mathematics with Computing
in 1992 Helen embarked on a successful career in Information Technology
(IT). She worked within the automotive industry, managing
data and computer networks.
Following a career break to spend time with her two children,
Helen was drawn into the world of education. Initially working
as an IT technician and Teaching Assistant within a Warwickshire
school, she was encouraged by her colleagues to gain her teaching
qualification. She has experience of working in schools
in Coventry, Birmingham and Warwickshire.
In the past, Helen’s interests have led her to support the
work of the Children’s Society and her local churches, particularly
with baptisms. She is a warranted Brownie Guide Leader for
the Girl Guide Association.
Helen is married with two girls, at schools within the Coventry
Foundation. She enjoys cooking, camping, walking, spending
time with her family and supporting her daughters in their various
activities.
