Jayne Legate gained a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and Biology, then a PGCE at the University of Warwick. Jayne initially taught Biology and Chemistry at a senior school in Northamptonshire.

After moving to Coventry she spent a period in industry, with two leading local companies, before returning to teaching Science, part time, at a small local independent school.

Later she became a Year 2 class teacher at a primary school in Warwickshire where she had responsibility for co-ordinating Science at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and Mathematics at Key Stage 1 before accepting a part time post as a Science specialist at King Henry VIII Junior School.

In her spare time she enjoys swimming, jogging and cycling.
