Mr. Julian Brown joined the staff of Coventry Preparatory School in September 2004 where he was Director of Music and Head of Religious Education.

He was born in Coventry in 1954 and attended St. Thomas More’s Primary School and Bishop Ullathorne R.C. Grammar School. He graduated with a double 1st class B.Ed degree from Manchester University in 1977.

His first teaching position was at Barr’s Hill Community College in 1977, where he taught English, Drama and Music. In 1985 he moved to the primary sector, joining the staff of St. Augustine’s, Coventry. While there he taught Music throughout the School and prepared much of the music for the many religious occasions in the school’s calendar. In 1990 he moved to Frederick Bird Primary where he taught children who had a mother tongue other than English and was later appointed Music Co-ordinator.

After a period of time in Yorkshire he has returned to Coventry and now serves as Head of Performing Arts at KHPS.
