Having graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University , Crewe
and Alsager Faculty , Miss. Wozencroft took up her first teaching
post at Victoria Road Primary School, Cheshire. Initially she
had a Year 3 / 4 class, moving up to a Year 5/6 class the following
year.
Her next position was in Kenya where she taught for a total of
8 years. Initially, at Braeburn School , Nairobi , where she was
Head of Special Educational Needs, she then moved into the ‘bush’ to
teach two boys whose parents were making a wildlife film about
Hippos. After a year with them, under canvas, she moved to the
Chyulu Hills to another ‘bush’ experience and the added
opportunity of working with Maasai children. After two more years
of teaching in rural Kenya , she decided to return to Nairobi where
she started work at The Banda School.
At the Banda she was a Year 2 class teacher, with responsibilities
for Art, RE and Display. She also taught Netball, Hockey and Rounders.
She joined Coventry Preparatory School in September 2005 as Year
4 form teacher and teacher of English, Mathematics, P.E. and Girls’ Games.
In September 2006 she was appointed Director of Sport at Coventry
Preparatory School, in which role she further developed Girls’ Netball
and Hockey at the School as well taking on the role as the School’s
main swimming teacher. She enjoys making a contribution to school
trips and the extra-curricular aspects of the School, including
being a member of the cast of the School Panto and organizing ‘It’s
a Knockout!’
From September 2008, Miss Wozencroft has served as Head of Girls’ Games
and Head of P.E. (which includes Swimming) at King Henry VIII Preparatory
School.
