Keith Rawlins was born in Warwick and has always lived in this locality. He was educated at Westgate Primary School and then at Warwick School.

At age 18 he worked as an unqualified teacher at Sydenham Primary School in Leamington Spa. After a year he trained as a teacher at Newland Park College of Education. When qualified, he was appointed to All Saints C.E. Junior School in Warwick where he ran Football, Cricket, Cross-Country and Athletics teams. When the school became a Middle School, Keith was asked to set up and run a brand new school library based on the Dewey Decimal System.

At the age of 30, Keith was appointed Deputy Head of Bridgetown Primary School. He continued to run a range of sports teams (with a lot of success). He also set up and ran a library and took charge of Mathematics in the school. Keith gained a lot of experience as an Acting Head Teacher at Bridgetown.

In 1986 he gained a B.Ed. degree at Warwick University by completing a 2 year part-time course. In 1988 he was appointed Acting Head at Temple Grafton School in South Warwickshire for one term. After a successful Ofsted Inspection in February 2002, when his teaching was officially recognised as “inspirational”, Keith decided to leave Bridgetown to become a supply teacher. In 2003 he was delighted to be asked to join the team at King Henry VIII School.
