After qualifying with a P.G.C.E. from Liverpool University in
1994, Mr. Phil Savage taught secondary History in Milton Keynes.
He returned to Coventry in 1998 and worked as a middle manager
in two secondary schools. Though academically based, he has always
taken a full part in extra-curricular activities and sports, in
particular rugby.
Mr. Savage has been employed at King Henry VIII School since 2004
as a form teacher with responsibility for History. He has also
taught and developed Rugby for children of junior school age and
had responsibility for the Gifted and Talented.
Mr. Savage enjoys teaching a variety of different subjects to
his form and teaching different year groups. As Head of Pastoral
Care Years 4 - 6 he is based at Hales where he is currently also
a Year 5 form teacher. Mr Savage takes
great pleasure from the many extra-curricular activities offered
by the School and believes they afford children great opportunities
to develop confidence.
Mr. Savage is married to Louise and has two children.
