Mrs Ruth Morris joined the staff of Coventry Preparatory School
in September 2004.
She obtained a BA (Hons) degree in French from Liverpool University.
One year of the four year course was spent as an assistant English
teacher at Lycée Francois Rabelais, Fontenay-Le-Comte, France.
She studied for her P.G.C.E. at Warwick University, specialising
in Early Years education.
Her first teaching post was as a Reception class teacher at a
large primary school in Coventry, where she was later given responsibility
for the Early Years Phase. Since that time she has held teaching
posts across the full primary age range, including phase leaderships
and the post of Special Needs Co-ordinator.
Mrs Morris has also worked as an audit moderator within the primary
sector for the Coventry Education Authority, a role which included
delivering In-service training to other teachers in order to develop
assessment knowledge and strategies for Year 2 and Year 6 SATs.
Following the birth of her two daughters, Mrs. Morris returned
to teaching and served at Balsall Common Primary School where she
set up the French curriculum for Key Stage 2 children.
Since joining Coventry Prep Mrs Morris has taught predominantly
within the Early Years, taking on the role of co-ordinator soon
after joining the school. She has also taught in Year 2 and has
recently taken on the role of teaching French to our younger pupils.
In her spare time she enjoys films, reading and fell walking.
